Additional Transmission Cooler for 8-Speed

Hi guys. Hope everyone is doing great.

Recently I learned that Jeep provides an Additional transmission oil cooler for vehicles equipped with the Tow package.

My vehicle is not equipped with the tow package, but I wanted to add the additional transmission cooler from Mopar.

Has anyone tried to install this additional transmission cooler, if yes I’d greatly appreciate some help on what would be required.

I was under the impression all the Jeep Gladiator models got the same transmission cooler. Just with tow packages, they added a larger cooling fan.

In addition there is also a transmission cooler radiator that is mounted in the front of the car.
I am interested in knowing if anyone has fitted this on the car after as a add on and not from the factory.

You may want to check out what it takes to fill these and check the fluid level before messing with it - especially since you won't need it unless you get into some serious extremes or try to tow too much too fast. They are "semi-sealed" and you have to go through quite a process to add fluid and check fluid from under the truck.
There's no dipstick or easy access.
Have you checked the transmission temperature as you were running it? (the gauges in the truck's cluster)

As a side note, PPE makes cooling oil pan that holds an additional quart of fluid. You must, however, run the vehicle while pumping in the fluid and follow a certain procedure.

I installed the PPE transmission pan and it dropped the temperature about 18 degrees on average. For the most part my tranny temperature runs below 200 degrees consistantly. Also installed the PPE engine oil pan and experienced similar results. 2023 Rubi

The Mojave also comes standard with the "Max Tow" cooling package, which includes a larger fan to cool the engine.

I don't really know myself, but a guy on a YouTube video did a comparison and said the cooler on the plain Jane gladiator, without the tow package, has the same trans cooler as the one with. He also said all you really need is the heavier duty Cooling fan... just what I saw. Perhaps someone else can chime in.

I think posted needs to watch you tube . All the Gladiator have the same trans cooler .. it is a fan difference. The local Dodge garage told me the fans are 2 stage they go from off to slow to high .
