Hello everyone!
I'm new here, but I've been a Jeep guy ever since I got my first Jeep ('87 Cherokee) back in 1992. My previous Jeep was 2007 JK Rubicon Unlimited which I bought as brand new back when it first came out. It was very reliable, and I'd driven it for about 12 years (180,00 miles+.) Unfortunately, I totaled my JK last (2019) February: The car in front of me skidded driving through snow/ice on I-80 near Truckee, CA and span off towards me. I avoided hitting the car but then I swerved to the side driving over a snowbank and flipped my Jeep. As the results, I broke 5 ribs and punctured a lung. It was a pretty painful injury, but now I'm fully recovered. My passion is climbing mountains, and I was successfully able to climb Cerro Aconcagua, the highest peak outside of Himalaya/Karakoram with the elevation of 22,841 ft, in the Andes, Argentina last month. I just came back home
Anyway, I'm planning on ordering a JT Mojave or Rubicon in the next month or so. I’m leaning towards getting a Mojave as I now live in Reno. Yes, Rubicon trail is nearby, but I enjoy driving through desert in Black Rock Desert, Mojave Desert, Death Valley more than rock crawling.
I saw the Order Guide (PDF) posted in this forum. (Thank you for sharing this insider info to whomever sharing it to us periodically.) As the Mojave listed in the latest Order Guide, can I go to a dealer and order one now? When you order a Jeep, should I expect to pay for MSRP? What is FWP stated in the Order Guide? Is it the invoice price for the dealer (the cost the dealer pays to the manufacturer)?
I’m sure no one knows about Mojave, but is it about 2 months for the waiting time for the delivery of JT right now? I’m planning on going climb some mountains in Bolivia in June. So, hopefully, I’ll have my JT by the time I get back from the trip in end of June~early July.
Lastly, if anyone knows a good Jeep dealership in Reno, NV area (well, there are only 3 choices though; one in Reno, one in Carson City, and one in Fernley.)
Nice to meeting you guys!
