Hello everyone!

I'm new here, but I've been a Jeep guy ever since I got my first Jeep ('87 Cherokee) back in 1992. My previous Jeep was 2007 JK Rubicon Unlimited which I bought as brand new back when it first came out. It was very reliable, and I'd driven it for about 12 years (180,00 miles+.) Unfortunately, I totaled my JK last (2019) February: The car in front of me skidded driving through snow/ice on I-80 near Truckee, CA and span off towards me. I avoided hitting the car but then I swerved to the side driving over a snowbank and flipped my Jeep. As the results, I broke 5 ribs and punctured a lung. It was a pretty painful injury, but now I'm fully recovered. My passion is climbing mountains, and I was successfully able to climb Cerro Aconcagua, the highest peak outside of Himalaya/Karakoram with the elevation of 22,841 ft, in the Andes, Argentina last month. I just came back home

Anyway, I'm planning on ordering a JT Mojave or Rubicon in the next month or so. I’m leaning towards getting a Mojave as I now live in Reno. Yes, Rubicon trail is nearby, but I enjoy driving through desert in Black Rock Desert, Mojave Desert, Death Valley more than rock crawling.

I saw the Order Guide (PDF) posted in this forum. (Thank you for sharing this insider info to whomever sharing it to us periodically.) As the Mojave listed in the latest Order Guide, can I go to a dealer and order one now? When you order a Jeep, should I expect to pay for MSRP? What is FWP stated in the Order Guide? Is it the invoice price for the dealer (the cost the dealer pays to the manufacturer)?

I’m sure no one knows about Mojave, but is it about 2 months for the waiting time for the delivery of JT right now? I’m planning on going climb some mountains in Bolivia in June. So, hopefully, I’ll have my JT by the time I get back from the trip in end of June~early July.

Lastly, if anyone knows a good Jeep dealership in Reno, NV area (well, there are only 3 choices though; one in Reno, one in Carson City, and one in Fernley.)

Nice to meeting you guys!

Hello and welcome. I live in Las Vegas and found that all the dealerships out here won’t give much of a discount if any. When it’s time to order mine, I’m getting it from Travis@tricityjeep. His dealership is in North Carolina but they give up to -7% off below invoice if you met all the criteria. He’s one of the best around and will take care of you. I’d recommend to email him, he already posted on this forum that his dealership is taking orders on the Mojave.

Prestige in Vegas gave me a good discount off sticker or invoice. You should be able to negotiate in the Reno area if you check around, and use jeep.com to look at inventory that interests you, go to the dealership websites to see what discounts they are offering. Consider your planned use before deciding you have to have either the Rubi or the Mojave. I have ended up not preferring the electric lockers which are open or fully locked. I ended up leaving them open all the time for my use, so paying for this kind of locker was not worthwhile. In snow and sidehills, a locked rear will tend to slide you sideways. I decided on the max tow option as the heavy duty option for me, good suspension, brakes, best towing and hauling capability.

Wow, sorry about your injuries. Sounds like you have a lifestyle that seems to fit the JT perfectly.

I’m a few months away from ordering, likely a year myself. I’ve done a lot of reading this forum the last few days that I’ve been stuck at home with strep. I’ve read and read others experiences and then did some quote getting from around the country to see what to expect.

I used Jeep’s build out tool, exported to a pdf and found the contact information from other form member’s specific recommendation folks here on the forum that will help to get you get a good deal.

I emailed 6 dealers in total, 4 responses, all within $1,000 of each other.

Of the two local stores I reached out, only one replied. Their price was okay, probably not worth haggling over if you consider travel, food expenses and gas to drive back to Vegas from across the country (more on this below).

However, if I’m buying a new truck that is over $50,000 MSRP - I want:
1) as an honest up front experience as possible and
2) adventure, I’d love to fly up somewhere to pick up mu 0 mile Jeep and drive back through the unknown, help me get I to the Jeep spirit - call it a wash even if you save $100 by not traveling out of state, who cares in the big scheme of things?

Anyways, the best price I got off the get-go was from Dennis Dillon CJDR, around 13% below MSRP or 6-7% below invoice. Contact is Benjamin Lily - [email protected].

Thank you guys for all the info! Yeah, I don't expect to get much discount especially for Mojave or Rubicon models (with ordering one.) Like Jefe1018 said, I just want straight forward shopping experience without some nonsense. I'll start from the dealerships around Reno and compare with the the ones you guys recommended/mentioned. I love road trips, so it's not a bad idea traveling to Vegas or Boise to pick up my JT.

Actually, I moved to Reno from Seattle about a little over a year ago. I've been to some Jeep trails and such in Sierra Nevada and Death Valley, but I haven't checked around Vegas. So, I'll be asking you guys for some good trails when I get my JT. Maybe we can get together hit some trails after we all get one! :)

Thanks again!

Don't sell yourself short here, most people are able to get good discounts on orders, especially since the dealership never ends up having to store it or pay floorplan on it. in most cases, unless it's been o the lot a while, people have been seeing bigger discounts on orders than stock units.
