"A New Mid-Size Truck Arriving In 2027
When the small Jeep Cherokee was discontinued after the Belvidere plant was idled in March 2023, it looked like the plant would be eventually closed for good. The plant closure forced many UAW workers to relocate and hit the local community hard, according to the union. The UAW has been trying to save the plant and convince Stellantis to bring it online, but it knew that Belvidere would need a vehicle to produce if there was any hope.
The UAW's agreement with Stellantis will bring the production of a mid-size truck to the Belvidere Assembly Plant. Details are sparse but according to the UAW the truck will begin production in 2027 and it expects to produce anywhere between 80,000 to 100,000 units. The agreement doesn't name the truck but our best guess is that it could be the rumored Ram Dakota.".

Been waiting a long time for a Ram mid-size pickup. Hopefully this wish will come true this time. The problem is that I will be three years older!

Given the sorry state of affairs that Stelantis is in I have doubts they’ll be around in 2027…
