Ran across this handy little tool to help our backs when removing, installing or rotating our Jeep tires/wheels. All I know is that even my 33's are a chore to deal with when working on the floor.

Good on concrete or asphalt. Not so good on a trail

Neat gadget. I prefer the cuss and grunt method and a little touch of hernia that I’ve been using for years ? my Mickey Thompson 37s are heavy!!

I just put coveralls on, sit on the ground with the tire between my knees, and lift them up from underneath. I have no problem getting my 37s on beadlocks up and I’m right at eye level with the hub to line up the studs. Totally saves my back. This is the easiest way I’ve found to rotate/change them. I pretty much have to wear coveralls anyway to do anything with a tire that big without getting filthy, so you might as well get in there right underneath them.

Ordered and received my Trac Tire Jack tool. Very well-made, heavy-duty tool. Did two tire rotations over the weekend. After the first one, I knew that it was worth the money to me. Made things so much easier and a REAL back saver with my 33's!

With 33’s or smaller it probably would work pretty well. On bigger tires, I’d be concerned when I roll it back and have to align the studs. If they’re off, you’d have to pick it up off the thing which puts us back to manhandling the tire. I don’t like rolling the wheel around on the hub trying to find the studs and buggering their threads. I like to get the wheel aligned as close as possible before lifting it up. A tool just makes it more complicated. Underneath it you can just rotate the tire lifting it just a smidge off the ground with your arms or knees.

Also when I went from 33s to 37s it’s a huge difference in weight and bulk, especially with these heavy wheels. I wouldn’t want the wheel and tire up on a lever and it’s another thing I have to keep up with. I can actually pick up the wheel and tire from the rim standing next to it. The problem is it’s hard, if not impossible to align the studs. Getting underneath it and cradling the tire is the best method I found, and it works on or off road and requires no tools. You just have to get dirty. I always carry some cheap Dickies coveralls in my recovery gear bag when off roading in case I have to get underneath it.
