Adding dual remote battery?

I would like to add another battery, preferably in the bed. What have you found to be the best kit and have you had any electronics trouble after adding a second battery?

A year or so ago a member added a second battery in a holder behind the right rear wheel up behind the outside of the box if that makes sense. It was hidden from view, worked great. I'd like to do something like that to run a winch on my car hauler.

I have not had any problems with it. I used the same Cole-Hersee Smart Isolator that is in the Genesis Dual Battery Kit. Essentially, I pieced together a DIY version of the Genesis kit. The advantage to the Genesis system is it comes as a kit and fits under the hood. The disadvantage is you remove both factory batteries and buy two new ones.

Ah, that was you. Thanks for the link. I have thought of this - maybe at some point as I'd like to have a battery back there for a trailer winch or even other reasons............

I also used the hole in the side of the bed, near the right rear tie-down, to bring a 12v line up into the bed from the rear battery. I'm using it to power the lights I added to the RSI SmartCap.
