Hey All!
Thought I'd share, in case it's useful. I have the Uconnect 7" w/o factory amp and sub. I wanted to add a powered subwoofer to my Gladiator, and I didn't want to cut into / tap the wires.
I ordered the PAC AP4-CH41 (R.2), because I thought it would allow me to add a subwoofer while retaining the factory speakers powered by the headunit. Turns out it does not. Once installed, the PAC monitors the CANbus and converts the Uconnect into pre-amp outputs. This is great if you want to install a full system, but not great if you just want a sub.
I was going to send it back, but after studying the wire harness, I realized it could be modified to meet my needs.
Remove the tape on the PAC harness (this harness installs in-between your factory headunit and the factory 52-pin connector. The pink and orange wires are the CANbus lines. The yellow and black (on the bottom of the picture) are the power and ground for the PAC unit.
Connect the orange and pink CANbus wires together. Match up the solid pink wire to the solid orange wire and the striped pink wire to striped orange wire.
Tape off the yellow and black wires (power and ground for the PAC device).
Now, you have all four factory wires to send to an amp, sub, or line-converter. And, the factory speakers still work too!
Purple wire - Right Rear Speaker
Grey wire - Right Front Speaker
White wire - Left Front Speaker
Green wire - Left Rear Speaker
The striped wire is the negative line, solid color is positive.
I powered my sub using one the AUX switches and grounded it to a rear seat bolt.
I ended up with a really expensive wire harness, but I have an unused PAC control module if anyone wants it. Wires not included!
Enjoy.
