Been having occasional issues with the auto/start stop aka the secondary battery.

I’d say this has happened 6 times over the past year since July 2020. The first couple times I simply unplugged the negative terminal and the problem went away for several months.

I added an amplifier for an under seat subwoofer in April 2020. Had no issues with auto start/stop for several months.

Problem has been more persistent. Last of my free oil changes last month, I had them check the secondary battery. Dealer said they charged it and all was good. Since then, I’ve kept the auto-start stop off via a Tazer mini. When I had it in, I unmarried the Tazer and hid the amp wiring.

Light went off again yesterday.
I’m at 32k miles, so I should be under warranty.

should I try to hide audio wiring before bringing it back to dealer? What are chances they’d blame the amp on the battery failing? Does the Tazer need to be unmarried and removed for any dealer service?

Unless you have the amp connected to the ESS battery, it should not be an issue for the dealer. The Tazer does not have to be unmarried, but should be removed before taking to the dealer.

The ESS battery is likely failing. Take it back to the dealer and have them test it again.
