Aftermarket hood latch doesnt work

These are the replacement ones I have - note that they seem to use the same key for all the locks but they do at least lock.

I dont see how you can get proper tension on the hood without the little hood rest. I looked at the video and there is nothing supporting the outer edges of the hood? I bought hinges from Extreme 4x4 and to tighten it down enough for the latch to not vibrate, the hood was almost touching the fender. Most aftermarket latches say they fit JK JL and JT, I disagree.
