As a vendor of Jeep aftermarket accessories, I am accustomed to answering questions for you guys, but this time I have a question and I'm hoping some of you may be able to assist me and my customer.
My customer is a industrial designer, an inventor, a Jeep Gladiator owner (as of last week) and a paraplegic. The last item has never defined him and he is an avid pilot (hand controls) and has put Moab on his bucket list of things to do in this Gladiator.
He plan on designing and constructing a lift system to raise his wheel chair through the back door and then close the door behind him. Based on a long conversation and several email with him, I am convinced he will do it. But upon delivery of the Gladiator he realizes his first obstacle to overcome is the resting height of the JT.
He has asked me to find an airbag suspension system that will both raise and lower his vehicle enough for the lifting device to be able to work. At this point there are no details as to how much lower he wants or needs the JT to go, just do such systems exist.
Generally, I deal with the lot of us testosterone driven Jeepers who want to make the ride higher and more rugged, this is my first request to find a way to make the Jeep temporarily lower for entry. Any thoughts?
