FWIW in regards to antenna reception.....

I switched to a Raydonair when I first got my Gladiator. Reception loss was zero. I recently took the antenna mount off for a cleaner look and put the antenna under the passenger side of the dash. I only have a little bit of reception loss once now. I can listen to all of my favorite stations still except for one. I prefer the clean look more than perfect AM/FM reception. I use my phone (iTunes) 98% of the time anyhow.

Tried to order the rydonair but Amazon is telling me it won’t fit the Willys. Anyone know if that’s true?
It fits fine. I opted for the 13" and loss is zero.
A lot of aftermarket mfrs don't address the Willys edition.

Rydonair's will fit 2007-2021 Jeep Wrangler JK JKU JL JLU Rubicon Sahara Gladiator.... any and all JL's and JT's. They just haven't addressed the 2020, 2021 model year in the ad.
Thanks a bunch! Going to order it now.

When people say that there is zero reception loss they mean that they have not personally experienced any loss on the stations they listen to.

Most of us live near the stations we listen to so the shorter antenna loss is not a factor.

It's shorter. It has less reception.

But you won't notice unless you are at the weaker edge of reception.

Not a factor for most people.

My 13 inch rydonair works well in my area and I have no complaints.

Yup, I live in Denver and use to have perfect reception when i headed West on I70 into the mountains... Changed to a 9" Quadratec/Rugged Ridge and there was a very noticeable loss in audio quality on FM. Im investigating with other people in Denver if a 13" helps or going back to stock.

Yes on this post below. The stock length is roughly a tuned full 1/4 wavelength for about 100MHz in the middle of the FM broadcast band and the internal circuitry of most AM receivers are tuned specifically to match up with the roughly 3ft stock antenna. When you go smaller, even though the replacement antenna has a coil that mimics the stock antenna length, its efficiency goes way down and reception suffers on FM. On AM a 1/4 wave whip wants to be about 234ft long and the internal circuitry in the radio that matched the stock antenna is now way off.

There is no magic in a shorter antenna and it doesn't matter if it has solid gold wire inside or some design borrowed from aliens or some other sales gimmick. Shorter will work worse than stock length.

I went with a 13" knowing I'll take a big hit on reception but I use satellite radio 99.999% of the time and would only use AM or FM in an emergency.
