Definitely live.

So if you are sitting at a stop light, foot on the brake, and you need to dim your lights because someone has just come around the corner at you, it will lock your brakes?
I believe you also have to be in park

Hope so or someone will get a surprise but then "the book" says touching the gas releases it so it wouldn't be a big deal.
I assume having the idle increased for upping electrical output for winching doesn't count the same as touching the gas pedal.

I have not updated firmware in some time, but my version works just by pushing the brake pedal firmly. No stalk needed.
And definitely doesn’t have to be in park, that defeats the purpose of it.

mine turns on all the time, when I’m at a stoplight and I have to reach back to smack my kids, anchor mode engages from me pushing on the brake pedalšŸ˜‚
It disengages as soon as you hit the gas.

It always works, but quite frankly I don’t think I’d trust a Tazer or device enough to get out of the car with it in gear.

Don’t confuse brake hold with anchor, they two different modes. Brake hold will apply and hold brakes when shifting to drive and holding the brakes for a few seconds and releases when pressing accelerator.

They sound they same besides brake hold saying your seatbelt needs to be buckled.šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
I’ve never tried the anchor mode itself, nor would I trust it any different than brake hold.

I set the anchor mode and tried to pull a small boxwood stump with the winch and it started to drag the jeep so I immediately stopped, didn’t want to damage the parking pawl.

Anchor mode isn’t for when it’s in neutral? To me that would be the logical setup.

I was alone and outside the vehicle. I didn’t trust it. I think mine only activates in park. I’ll have to try neutral.

If all 4 brakes are locked, I can't see how dragging it would damage the parking pawl?

I finally got this working. It must be in park and brake hold also has to be turned on. When you pull the hi beam stalk in and press the brake it goes into Anchor Mode and the ABS and the BRAKE lights flash continuously to show that it on. It will also stay in Anchor mode if you shift into Drive . Kicks out if you touch the gas pedal.

I guess this makes sense… still doesn’t seem right that it’s in Park, though that is safer.
I wonder if the brakes may give a little bit on a sticky surface (37s, aired down, etc) and possibly damage the transmission pawl?

You activate it in park and then you can shift to drive if you want and it stays in Anchor Mode.
