Looking at Black Rhino wheels, Arsenal, Abrams, etc. Something in that utility-style they offer.

There's a LOT of bolts on those wheels.

Are they real or just decorations cast into the wheel? Do any of these models have a removable center ring or anything that can be taken off by removing some of those dozens of bolts, and painted easily?

I'd want to paint them to match the Jeep, but not the ENTIRE wheel - just the centers. All the wheels in the styles I'm looking at have some form of a central ring of allen or hex bolts that doesn't APPEAR to serve any purpose. Or do they?

No info on the company website.

Thanks,
Darel

Remember- there are no stupid questions, just stupid people who ask questions.
And, apparently stupid people who reply who don’t have Real answers...Sorry.
The very center of most of their wheels is a removable cap. The bolts are for decoration, but may thread out.

OK thanks. To be clear, I am NOT talking about the center caps that cover the lugs. Here's a good example, on this Arsenal, is the beige part a separate piece that can be unbolted using those Allens and painted easily? Or does it all need to be taped off because it's one piece (thereby making repainting them a real pain)?

Keep us posted on what you choose...I have been happy with the black rhinos and loved that they offered a +30mm offset to tuck under the fenders.

Will do but it'll be a while before I even get to place my order. I am actually thinking about plasti-dipping the stock Rubicon wheels bronze, as I really like the style just so sick of black wheels. I might try that before shelling out for a whole.new set of wheels, but these are definitely at the top of the list as long as I can easily remove a section and paint it not black. Either bronze, or color-matched I'm thinking.

You might have seen this build thread but black and gold painted the stock sport wheels bronze and added kenda 35s and it turned out really nice!

If they are plastic and pull out easily, what's the explanation for the "rust" issues I keep reading about I just want to know if they are removable so I can paint the wheel

I think that was an older style...the newer ones I believe haven’t had that issue...the issue were the Allen bolts on the plastic rings were rusting over time

I really like those style wheels myself.....kinda "tank-like". I also think they may be a bit easier to keep clean, seeing as their solid so no brake dust, just road grime ?
