I am out of town for work the next few months and I am interested in trying out new trails on days off when I don't feel like driving home on my days off. I have searched On X and Jeep BOH apps and don't see anything nearby that I am interested in that is open. I would like to do Dickey Bell since I have read about it for what seems like twenty years on forums but its closed. Bearwallow might be worth a try but I don't have a DOT helmet and no need for one at the moment unless going there

Up in Harrisonburg which s a pretty good drive from Radford. I might be able to meet you if you decide to come up.

I will keep this in mind. The Industrial Construction company I work for is bidding on a job in Lynchburg and he says the guys I am working with now and I might go there after the job we are on now. I am closer to home than I am Harrisonburg but thanks for the suggestion and offer

It looks like there should be lots of places right around Radford but I haven’t found any. Lynchburg would definitely be closer to Harrisonburg though.

Yeah I have found a few trails on OnX but they look like dirt roads and cross private property. There isn't many known trails that are listed in NE Tennessee where I live either. On X shows a lot of trails near an hour or so west of hear but most are listed as 2/10 for difficulty. The trails local to me in Tennessee are rated 3-5 and I use 2wd mostly on them.

Thanks for your replies

When we did Hatfield McCoy trails of Bearwallow, we bought helmets and returned em the next day. Talked to police 2x and never had helmets on, nor did we put the sticker on the helmet. Didn't mind paying for stickers tho because it goes to trail maintenance.

I spent six months in Blacksburg and had a lot of fun exploring the Jefferson National Forest. OnX has some trails marked, and a lot of the remote roads up there are enjoyable and a little challenging. Broad Run had a bunch of creek crossings, and Potts Mountain is a serious trail. No badges to be won, but plenty of fun to be had.

If I make it home soon I might borrow a helmet and go. I am trying to talk some of the other guys that I work with into going because they have sxs's.

I will try to go check them out one weekend. The more I search On X the more I find. Brown Mountain in N. Carolina looks like a good option also
