It’s time to break out your fab tools and design what YOU want…if you don’t have the tools or the fab talent, have it commissioned, and get exactly what you want at the weight you’ve designed. Good Luck.
fair point. Time to learn how to weld aluminum lol

It’s not that hard, get a spool gun and start running some beads
already have one. I'm gonna check on tig prices and decide from there. I think I may just design a swing out that incorporates the stock bumper. Just somehow bolts through to the frame of the truck

Well the spare doesn't count as it is under the bed already, so there ya go!
I know my Mojave looks stock, stock tires and wheels but has an RSI cap, and an ARB Fridge in bed on raised rack, ARB comressor (single lighter weight one), skidded pretty good under side, (oil Pan is aluminum skid) and cast diff covers, dual battery under hood, solar panel on cap, receiver hitch and also a very light weight winch on front, still it is scary how heavy they get so fast! Still getting a front runner very skinny ten gallon tank for front of bed. When guys start building them out if you don't have a Max Tow it is tough, real tough.. Just keep fighting the light weight fight Pud jumper....Jack
The weight of the spare does so count because its flipped up on end and moved out to rear of vehicle. This lncreases thevweight. Dont believe me, ask any 4 year old thats played on a teeter totter. The further out the more downward force the weight puts on the rear.

Spare is in the bed as I have a water tank I'm trying to fit in the spare location. Worst case I go flatbed when I no longer have a realistic payload left.

I have a complete JCR unit and I have found there is not much of a problem as to weight on the back. when i am not playing, i take off the tire and spare and run around the local area. the weight for the vehicle with all of the mods i have done is 5660. when i add just the tire and the fuel cans the weight is 5740. the only issue that i have had with the system is the powder coating was not strong enough and i had to have it repainted last year.

I sit currently at 5600 with no swing out. I reserve most of my payload for fluids, Gas water etc. I need 400 miles of range where i go sometimes and water for my longer trips.

Thats my other concern. If i put my tire and gas on a swing out I need to save as much weight as possible cus thats a lot of leverage I'll have to manage at speed.

been looking over all market options on a swing out bumpers for awhile now…the aluminums on the market are grossly over priced and the steel ones are way overbuilt and heavy as hell. I was thinking a minimalist steel version and a double swing out, for my needs. Something with a good breakover, smooth bottom (minimal places to hang up)…tie all the carry weight to the two frame horns.

IS there any things you deleted or avoided to save weight? I'm trying to convert everything to aluminum and have even tossed my RTT for a hammok setup. I did go 37s so I know thats not helping. I'd like to be sitting at 5500-5600 ready roll full kit.

true you don't actually need much steel to pull it off. Some properly bent tube and it'll hold whatever you want.

Actually I just remebered these guys from my toyota days. super easy kits and quite light for what they. You don't even have to use all the material either. I've done 2 of em before. https://www.coastaloffroad.com/product-page/swing-out-carrier-systems/

This is perfect, thanks for sending. I’ll be reaching out to them today on components they have available.
i will be too. I got some spare tube tho so i will most likely run a prerunner style to shave weight and I'll find a way to keep the stock recovery hooks too.

I have been wanting to bob my rear end and put a flat bed. Think they look great
