What are the specs on your TJ? 3,250 sounds really light.
Curb weight is 3240 pounds for the 4.0. I have removed the rear seat, and all the steel bumpers and armor and replaced with aluminum. Will wait to fill her up with gas until out of California. Even if I'm off...its still way under max specs for towing.

Definitely still under your towing limit.

I had a TJ with not much weight added to it and it was 4,200 lbs on the scale.

Update: so, as stated, Im getting ready for the Moab trip at the end of the month. Trial flat tow run for the TJ on 35's from Indio to Big Bear City via Yucca Valley…sea level to 6700 feet in just over 100 miles. Plus 15-25 mph headwinds the entire way. Figured it wouldn’t get any harder than that. Rock Jock frame mounted tow kit, Blue Ox Patriot braking system, Harbor Fright tow bar and magnetic LED lights. The Gladiator did great, all temps were between 1/3 and 2/3 of max. 55-60 mph on highways. A little wiggle from the crosswinds, but not bad at all. The last grade from Lucerne into Big Bear City was definitely noticeable, but we cruised on up 25-35 mph. I could have pushed harder, but why? The only bad thing was the mpg’s - took at hit at 8.5! Usually this same drive I’ll get between 12-16 depending on headwinds. However today's winds were the worst ever. I believe I would have gotten about 10+ mpg with normal weather. But…it will be downhill with a tailwind heading out..
