I'm thinking of adding an AEV 2.5 lift to my sport s (non-max tow) and bigger tires, but I want to keep my stock wheels. Just wondering if anyone have any issues with articulation or clearance with keeping the stock wheels. Thinking of just sticking with tires that have a width of 11.5 or lower.
Edit: non-max tow

35s will be fine with 12.5ā€ wide section. 37s will need wheel spacers to clear the front lower control arms…I’m running a 1.75ā€ hub centric wheel spacer for my 37s.

From your profile tag it looks like you have a max tow right?

Same kit 35x11.5's, no issues at all, on the road, in Moab, disconnected sways, ect.

My bad, I made a mistake. I have a non-max tow, would you think a tire with those specs would still work fine?

Yessir, max tow package. Here it is with the 37s and wheel spacer. Speaking of articulation though, I personally would go for a 3.5ā€ lift for 37s. I have 2.5ā€ in the front and 1-3/8ā€ in the rear, but I can’t do any off-roading like this lol.

Maybe that AEV spring lift kit is like Clayton’s 2.5ā€ lift though and lifts more than advertised? I’m unsure on that.

Edit: just saw your last post. You’re looking for non-max tow info. Can’t help there unfortunately.

Beautiful setup but I made a mistake, I have the non-max sport, do you think those tires will work in my case?

37" you'll probably need different wheels, or spacers. But not 100% sure, I've not dived deep deep into 37's.

i had to get a negative backspacing wheel to make 315/70r17 wihtout rubbing full lock on my first jt that was non max tow. with 3.73 gearing, it was fine for daily driving in my area, relative flat area. I ran a stock willys wheel off a 15 willys jk. i had a terraflex leveling kit in the front, still rubbed the lower conrol arms.

I went 4.75 or -6mm. the poke was about an inch or so from the fenders.

ive aired down my tires on my new jt which is a max tow, to 25-28 psi (thats another post all the same) and i rub full lock on my shock bracket on my metalcloak lift with the factory wheels.

feel free to dm me with questions or photos. i still have alot from my first JT a non max two and this one my max tow.

Have you heard of anyone doing fine with tires that have a width of 11.5 or less?

My JT Sport (not maxtow) is running MT 255/85R-17 on factory steel 17x7.5 rims. The vehicle has a 1.5" front leveler, otherwise, stock suspension. These tires are approximately equivalent to 35x10.5 tires. *Zero rubbing* or other issues.
