You'll never get close to the resell of an actual Rubicon if you dump all of that money into a sport.
That's a good point, though every vehicle I've owned so far has been totaled before I could sell or trade it in. Not having a (useable) garage in tornado country sucks...

I'm definitely not advocating against building a sport to your liking, just pointing that out.

Where ya from? Kansas?

I'll second that it sounds like you really want the rubicon. you'll end up spending much more time and money trying to add those features too a sport s. the parts are absolutely worth the premium cost, not to mentions the upgraded interior, seats, suspension, rear bumper, etc. there are only 2 reasons I see buying a sport s over a rubicon, and that's 1: you plan to replace everything the rubicon comes with such as axles, bumpers, sliders, suspension, lockers, etc etc because your going full out build like evo did, or 2: you have no plans to actually use the rubicon features and only plan on seeing bad weather and very mild trails, and plan to keep it mostly stock, but want a slightly beefier stance. but if you plan to buy a sport and basically make a rubicon, you'll spend easily 2x the price, and still not have everything you could have got from the factory.

this. I went down this route, because my JKU was going to look the rubicon part, but beyond. I spent about 6k in upgrades minus drivetrain. Research over and over, unless you want hardcore rig, buy rubicon from get govif you know your going to spend money on mods later.

ill post pics once I figure out how to.
