Other than stiffening up the unloaded ride, any other negatives?

Would it stiffen the ride? They are progressive springs. The Sport max tow I test drove seemed to ride very nicely - my wife even thought it rode fine. Not bumpy or stiff - and that's saying a lot considering we drove it around Des Moines streets LOL

Isn`t the spring rate stiffer on the Rubicon for the trucks added weight? The Rubicon if you read reviews that have compared the different trims back to back all claim the Rubicon has the stiffest ride quality. The spring rates have been posted somewhere on this forum and it bears out that the Rubicon has the stiffest spring rate.

Since the Rubicon rear end sags more than the Max Tow under a load, I figured the Max Tow springs would help that.

Spring part number - the last three digits - (I gleaned from other people's posts, my own Overland, etc.)

Base Sport and Overland have the softest coils.
Overland gets 440/441 rear coils even with the towing package.
My Overland has 439 (left) and 440 (right) - NOT 440/441.
Max Tow upgrades to 444/445 coils in the rear.
Rubicon gets 450/451 rear coils.
The Max Tow coils are also progressive, so that with higher loads they handle the weight better.

Curb Weight Rubicon 5050 lbs. Sport 4650 lbs. Overland 4720 lbs.

Keep in mind a large part of the weight difference is UNsprung weight, weight UNDER the springs.
The Rubicon has lockers, I bet account for a fair share, heavier tires and wheel assemblies.
Do not compare OPTIONS - compare base Rubicon, Base Sport S only with max tow added. Not the fun stuff like switches, roof, things you have to put a check next to when ordering.
I have a feeling the Sport curb weight above MAY - MAY be the Sport without max tow. If that's the case then the weight difference between the Rubicon and Sport with max tow decreases greatly because max tow is an option.
Could take the difference down to 300 or less.

Just tossing out information and thoughts.............things to ponder

Another one to ponder, the uncommon option of a Sport S without tow that has the higher GVWR and highest listed payload; which springs does it have? My guess would be the max tow springs (both are same 6250 GVWR and similar payload 1600/1550 listed), but I’m curious.

My closest dealer has one. It has the 438/439 coils on the back. I think I posted a video in July. That truck is still sitting there by the way.

Which would be a notch down from my Overland even.

Is that the same coil they put on a regular sport S tow? What about the sport base?

Is there a thread on here listing the various combinations?
