Good evening all.

Is there a way to add approach lighting to our Jeeps? I had a 21 F150 and when you were within about 15-20 feet the whole exterior lighting would come on. I really liked this feature and don’t have it on my 23 JT.
Would be nice if the aftermarket had something like the TRIGGER controller or something that when it senses your phone or something coming close it would turn everything on.

Anyone know of something like that?

Not from that far away unless I use the key fob, but I also have the proximity sensors for my fob, so much closer for lights to go on. I added courtesy lights if that helps to get you where you want. I wired them into the bed light, that goes on when you unlock the gladiator or get close and touch the door button. There are a few post on this. I used
Harbor freight roadshock utility/rock lights. They go on sale often.
and these so I could move or adjust and not drill holes.

The ORACLE Lighting Sidetrack LED Lighting System is perfect for this purpose. Using your key fob to unlock your jeep will illuminate these and plenty of light is thrown as an approach light. This is one of my favorite lights on my personal Jeep and both of our show Jeeps. It will also double as a turn signal in a spot that is blind to other vehicles around you.

Although on my JK, here's a shot of it in action. Jeep Gladiator Approach lighting IMG_1919

That looks like it would work.
It would be nice if it and all the lights could illuminate as you walk up and your like 20ft away. Integrate it into your trigger line of controllers or something.

It would be nice for proximity to take over and auto illuminate. It just adds expense to the cost of products but love the idea.

So, how’d Ford do that? I mean, 20 ft is pretty far away. Unless there’s some other magical technology…. I can only imagine the keyfob batteries wouldn’t last very long since they’ve gotta send a ‘stronger’ signal and constantly.

Have no idea how it was done. That’s why I thought I would ask here.
It’s dark outside and you’re in a crowded parking lot and you have a cart full of groceries or something and a couple cars away it would all light up. Puddle lights and side mirror lights and taillights and box lights. It was nice.
I’m thinking the easiest thing to do is to wire it into the bed lights so they come on when I unlock. I’ve been searching online to find a way to do it as automatic approach lights but no go so far.
I plan to go with rock lights, bed mounted rail lights for the whole box, and either the oracle side vent lights or the integrated ones that replace the side cowl pieces. I want the whole area and perimeter lit up. A lot!!!
Also I owned my ford for 2 years and never replaced the fob batteries.
Thanks
Clarence

Oracle makes a lot of different lights (I have reverse lights in the bumper) and I just installed XKGlow vent Lights (only for parking/turns).

Both of those companies have sooo many different types of lights/lighting available.

Could use GPS.
Could be…but the amount of battery it’d take (in both the remote & vehicle) to keep both items running in the background (constantly)….. Sorry, over thinking…
