This all day. Totally valid point. Cool to be an early adopter, but wait a bit. Let them make it as good as it will be.

I'd keep and wait a year or two. It's pretty new technology, I like to wait a year or two for them to get the bugs worked out first.

I am not sure you can make a 1 for 1 comparison. The Jeep 4xe has a 3.6LV6 not 2.0T, and I've been told the reaction time is pretty fast on the Wranglers.
You have to compare what you want to get with what you currently have.

Like I said, 4Xe makes sense if I were coming fresh into Jeep. But IMO it doesn’t make a lot of sense to replace a perfectly good Jeep with low miles, for a 4Xe simply because of how it looks on paper.

If I were in your shoes, I’d enjoy my current Jeep and not worry about what Jeep might or might not do.

Trust me, they will keep making Jeeps for a long time. By the time you need to replace your Gladiator, FCA will have had a chance to greatly improve 4Xe’s technology.

For me the range and replacement questions on the battery pack would hold me back. My regular drives involve several 100 mile trips a week and a 300 mile one way every month or so. I would also would have to have a second tow vehicle so the math does not add up.

I would only ho go a hybrid if the ICE part was Diesel and not Gas. I often go long Distance and I currently run 25 mpg .
