I'm certain that a 1.5" spacer will not require an alignment. I think a 1.5" spacer would be the upper limit without also adding shock extension brackets, bump stop spacers, and longer sway bar links.Did you need an alignment after putting the spacers in? Did you end up putting in the 3/4" rear spacers?
I installed a 2.5" budget coil spacer lift on my JLU in 2018 (which included the additions above). I had read that under 3" there is no need for additional geometry correction, but over 3" it is needed. While I considered getting an alignment just in case, I ended up just re-centering my steering wheel. With no alignment, I have had no issues in terms of handling or uneven tire wear. btw I have 33" A/T tires that I have rotated (all 5) every 4k miles.
