This is a question for those with a AWE trail or single exit tread exhausts or maybe considering the single exit tread exhaust.
What are your thoughts on a single exit under the rear bumper? I know AFE has an adapter pipe to change exhaust locations, but would you consider this if AWE offered it?

I know the first thing is it will reduce rear departure angles, but if I am completely honest with myself, I don't see my Jeep getting into a scenario where I would not know in advance that it would be an issue. Think easy(ish) to remove clamp.

Some of the coolest looking exhaust systems have been the most simple like the Fox bodied Mustangs with the 5.0 or the early 90's GMC Cyclone.
Also no oversized coffee cans, clean consistent diameter to the rear.

Anyway, open to ideas and thoughts on something like this. It is not in the AWE catalogue, but I think it could do well for them as a third option for the JT.

I've got the tread edition and I love it. The tread as I'm sure you know doesn't suffer any of the mentioned issues. I think, if I understand correctly, and option to run under the rear bumper wouldn't be the most popular because many of us do spend time on the trails. Even with an option to remove the tail end of the exhaust, I think many would eventually get tired of doing so, especially if you go out a bunch. It'd just be a nuisance to me, which is why I opted for the tread edition. I get out maybe 10 times a year and would get tired of that after the 2nd or 3rd trip.

I don't think aftermarket exhausts are as popular on the JT as I have seen with other makes. Seems like most opt to cut part of the OE piping out.

Just my $.02.

Or, you can cut the pipe off just after the bend over the axle and install a tip of your choice.

Keep it high if you off road and still dump after the axle.

I considered AWE exhausts but ended up getting a Rock Basher from AFE. Sounds great with minimal to no drone and it is tucked before the rear axle. Nothing to bash on rocks.

I appreciate the responses so far.
Hitting the exhaust is not a concern for me.
I was looking for opinions on the exhaust being visible from behind. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.
