That device will not play well with the aux switches as they are programmable to remain in their last state (on or off) or to turn on/off with the ignition.

This camera has its own internal programming that switches its mode depending if your ignition is on or off ...

It has a 12 volt positive for power, a negative for ground and an accessory feed intended to connect to any wire that is only powered on when the vehicle is running ...

That way it can determine when to switch into motion sensing mode and only record when there is motion near your car ... And then when it detects a the car running it will switch to full time record mode ...

You could power it from the aux but it will defeat the design intent and be a bit of a hassle ...
makes sense. In its current state it seems to work since I have the aux switch set to turn on when the vehicle turns on. And when the vehicle is off the parking mode works by motion detection only.

What combo would you suggest then? I suppose I could wire it to the battery and ignition accessory cables like the OP suggested instead of the battery and aux three cable

Ok update for my case, I just had the shop
Hook up the camera to #5 and #6 and its working well.
I might have hooked up the wire incorrectly resulting no power delivered to the camera. The shop did not use the converter either

I wonder if it would make a difference if i wired it as yellow “power” wire to the ignition instead of the battery. Perhaps it wouldt be so hot to the touch.
