Ok, so 2 questions because the dealership is confusing me.

1. What is the tow rating on a WIlly's with the tow package. I'm assuming 3.73 gears.

2. What is the tow rating on a Rubicon with the tow package. It has 4.10 gears and my brother swears up and down that his was rated at 7,000.

I'm going for a Rubicon, but have found a couple good deals on Willys models, so I would consider one if it has a better rating than 4000. I think 4000 has to be with the manual. I can't imagine it would not at least be 5k or even 6k. But I need to know precisely and the Jeep website has so much pop-up crap that I'm having trouble navigating it on a Chromebook.

Thanks again for all the help and the patience with my confusion! I'm hoping it all ends with a JT in my garage!

Gas Sport Automatic (WILLYS is a package on a Sport) with Tow Package is rated for 6000 lbs

Gas Rubicon Automatic with Tow Package is rated at 7000 lb.

Great! That's what I thought. Thank you so much! So I'm going to upgrade to 35's, so I'm conservatively going to limit to 5k on a Willys and 6k on a Rubi. That fits my needs nicely. I am not planning on ever pulling anything over 5k wet. I think that gives me a good safety margin.

If you are going to both go to 35's and also tow, I would suggest getting something with 4.10 gears at a minimum regardless.

I had 35's on my 2021 WILLYS and it was a dog even when correcting the speed inputs for the tire size.

Yep, I'm likely going for a Rubicon. If I get a Willy's, I'll probably actually re-gear it to 4.56. I did that on my JLUR and it really hit the sweet spot with the manual transmission. I think it would be even slightly better with an auto.

My brother towed a boat that weighed 6k a few times with 35's and the 4.10's and it was acceptable. So If I do a Rubi, I'll just stick with the 4.10.

Thanks!
