Hello, over labor day weekend there was a sale on front and rear axle truss's/c gussets. Axle upgrades were on my list of mods for the future. So I said why not and pulled the trigger. I think I got everything for like 250. Eventually I would like to do ball joints or ball joint deletes, rcv's/regear etc. I have a 22 rubi with 6200 miles currently. I called a shop to get a price for install and the person I spoke to over the phone basically tried convincing not to get them b/c it would void my axle warranty all together for example if the rubi lockers went up or I broke the shafts or since jt’s can have issues with the axle seal which he said do occur. Which I get, but how would a truss affect locker warranty and some of the other things he mentioned. If a locker were to malfunction it would not be b/c of a truss. He asked me how often I tow and go wheeling. The towing question was more directed towards the regear. Currently I am running 37 bfg k02's which I dont think warrants a regear yet. I dont feel any diff compared to stock in daily driving. Granted I have only had the Jeep since January, we have only been several times. But we do plan on going to Colorado/Moab next year and ramping up some wheeling trips compared to what we do now. He basically told me it was overkill for what I do, but for me it would be more of a peace of mind just knowing I am strengthening the area. I know its my money do what I want, but I just wanted other peoples input/opinions. He tried telling me get something that more bang for your buck. Diff covers, shock/control arm skids. Which are all on my list but the truss's and gussets had a sale. Also said why not get a intake like the afe which has proven gains in hp. I was like ummmmmmm what are you smoking lol. Trying to convince me something else to buy I guess. But to return the axles and truss's I would have to pay for return shipping and the cost of original shipping? So I would only be getting a refund of 186. At that point im like I might as well just keep them. Thoughts??? Thanks!

Since you bought the axle truss’s at a good price just keep them until you start the other upgrades you are planning for your axles.

I'm running the same tires, as a matter of fact I've been running 37's since about 2500 miles, I just turned 46,000! Have wheeled it in Moab, Colorado and several times here locally in Texas, no issues! I did get diff and control arm skids before I went to Moab, it was a good call, the rocks are no joke. As far as the trusses and C bracing goes, I would wait til your ready to do your other upgrades.

Keep the trusses and gussets, get them burned on when you do the regear though as that much heat could damage some of the internals of the axle. In a regear those will all be pulled out so they can burn them on while the housing is empty and you don't have to worry about how much heat is going in to it.
