Hi Everyone,

I'm upgrading my stock Rubicon axles to the Hard Core PLUS XD60 68.5" axles. My truck has already been lifted with the Clayton 2.5" Overland Plus kit.

I'm receiving somewhat conflicting data regarding backspace and wanted to see if any one here can provide guidance on backspace for 17x9 wheels with 37x12.5xR17 K02 tires. My hope is to get the smallest scrub radius possible without having physical problems such as hitting the knuckle, rubbing during flex, etc.

I'd really appreciate any insights or guidance for proper backspace from anyone.

Thank you in advance!

Have you spoken to Clayton about what they recommend? I believe the factory axles are 68", so the Dynatrac axles will be 1/2 wider total, or 1/4" per side to give you room for a bit more offset. Rock Krawler recommends 4.5" BS with their 3" kit, which would translate to 4.75" BS on a Dynatrac 68.5" axle. I would think that will be close to what Clayton recommends, but calling them is your best bet.

If you’re just ordering them now you’ll have plenty of time to figure it out.

Hi,

Thank you @Rynomar and everyone.

After talking further with Dynatrac and Clayton, looks like 5" backspace on 17x9 is what I am going with. It doesn't provide the scrub radius that I was hoping for, but it does provide enough of what I need to drive her home afterwards.

Regarding timing, I ordered the axles last November with an expected delivery of the end of March. I'm expecting an update later this week. Hopefully, the date will hold. ?

5" of backspacing is still quite a bit, I bet it will work well and good luck on the axles, I really hope things start flowing a little more smoothly.

Unfortunately, things have only gotten worse. The Eaton Elockers are now on nationwide backorder. No projected shipping date. ?

That is a serious drag. I keep running into supply issues with everything these days. I am still waiting on a set of Nitto Trail Grapplers that I ordered on June 27, 2021! What about going with a different locker? Best of luck with the project, it will be worth it once it's done. It took me over a year to get everything in and installed, but I am thrilled with it now!
