I’ve been a bone head today. When replacing my ball joints, I stupidly put my top one in first and then had to remove it as I couldn’t get the press onto the lower with the upper in place. Then I pressed them in flipped with the lower in the upper hole and had to remove them again.

I haven’t ever been this air headed before, but it is what it is. Anyway, at this point is it likely that I’ll need knurled ball joints?

If it matters, I have terraflex HD ball joints.

Pics could help if there are issues. Did you have to beat up the knuckles to get em out the 2nd time? Any deformation/rust issues? Nothing about pressing out ball joints normally should cause the need for knurled ball joints. If they are in good shape and seat ok, you should be fine. Good luck.

I ended up going with some dynatrac ball joints. They pressed in with no problems and the jeep is back on the road.

Interestingly, the wobble was actually due to my steering stabilizer. A few lock-to-lock turns while I was trying to diagnose what else might be wrong actually totally cleared up the shimmy. I've read they can get air inside them on super cold days.
