I am on a trip. While driving I am charging a small jackery that then charges my fridge. Pull a small overland trailer as well.
noticed that volts in the JTM were at lowest 12.7. Now it is at 13.4.
I manually turn the ESS off time I drive.
is this an indication that battery is starting to go bad with lower volt reading?

Use of ESS has no effect on charging of the batteries. The lower voltage reading while driving is just showing that the batteries are charged. This is normal. When you start getting messages that ESS or Aux Switches are unavailable, then it is time to look at the condition of the batteries. The average life expectancy of the AGM batteries in the JT is about three years.

As was explained to me, and Mr._Bill just stated, our trucks do NOT show the current condition of the batteries. It shows the current charging condition of the batteries.

So you have to have think backwards, if it is showing in the 12's, you're basically fully charged across the two batteries. If it constantly shows upper 14's, your batteries are charging. As long as you don't get any lights showing issues, this charging condition isn't really a problem. BUT, if it never shows in the 12's and always stays in the 14's, you might consider getting it checked. You may have a battery about to puke out.
