Until I had my last pickup, I never had a bed cover on it. The rollup cloth style works the best for me, since I actually use the bed for larger things sometimes.

My Tundra had the WeatherTech Truxedo, and it's a great cover. I also see a Besttop version in the same price range and a Rough Country for half the price.

I know Rough Country usually has a bad name but looking at installation instructions they all look to be very, very similar.

Over the years with trucks…I’ve had soft rollups w/ snaps (sucks in cold weather). I’ve had soft Tri-fold (vinyl only lasted around 7 years). I moved to hard tri-fold and haven’t looked back. Yes, more expensive….but well worth it.

I had a basic Bakflip hard tri-fold on my previous Canyon. That was still in great condition when I traded it after 8 years. I put a Bakflip G2 on the Gladiator right after I bought it last year (April 2024)

The Bakflip G2 is totally flush with the bed. You can fold the sections back and it has straps to hold it in place. OR….You can take it off completely via 2 handscrews/nuts to use the entire bed. I bought it from a local shop who also installed it.

My Rough Country out performed the BakFlips I've had in the past. Absolutely no water leaks and I get full use of the bed if I fold it forward. For the price, you can't beat it. JMHO

I am at my age a aluminum retractable cover guy now. After flip tops and rollups that fall apart.

easy to assemble and self install. my wife was able to help the lift up to place on the other side of the truck - fairly easy
