Hi All,

I just put a deposit on a Gladiator that did not have the bed liner. The dealer said that they do it at the dealership, not at the factory. Is that true?

Yes and No. If you order it with a bed line it comes from the factory. That said many dealers also have the ability to add it in house or through a local third party. As to the quality that is open for discussion. Did you order yours from the factory or buy off the lot? If buying off the lot I don't think that is a bad deal, if ordering your dealer is either ignorant or lying to you, perhaps to charge you more or at least keep the profit from the liner in house.

I had a dealer add a liner when I bought an F150 a few years ago. Mistake. They just covered all the bolts with the liner crap. Not that I would take off the bed any time soon, but I would have opted to have it done at the factory instead. Or take it to a Linex shop myself.

For my Gladiator order, I am getting the option from the factory.

A dealer by me has one coming in a week or two with every option / color I want minus the bed liner. I figured it wasn’t that important from the factory? Maybe I’m wrong....?

I think it really depends on the dealer that does it. I’ve had 2 Rams in the past and one had a spray in bedliner from the factory. The other one I had the dealer do it. I liked the one the dealer did because I noticed it was a thicker coat and they did a great job. Factories was thin.

The factory berliner is almost half as thick as Linex. It is applied by spraying an adhesion promoter and then the bedliner product. It is easily peeled up. ( search YouTube for factory bedliner removal). Linex application includes a sanding of the bed to create a mechanical and chemical adhesion process. The cost of either is about the same. Linex warranty far exceeds the factory one. I'm going with linex. Was quoted 500 bucks locall . To me it's a no-brainer

It shouldn't be a big issue. Before delivery, have your dealer take the JT to Linex and have it done. Or, after delivery, do it yourself. $500 should cover it easily.

This sounds great. My local dealer suggested to get it done from the factory as to also keep the mfg warranty for it. He did not suggest the dealership put a drop in. However, I never thought about Linex. Is yours going to be the standard spray-on or premium...?

@OP - Sounds like it depends on the quality and capability of the local shop/dealer doing it for you. At first I was thinking to order from factory the spray-on but the Linex stuff makes sense
