Work around an office and it's an ergonomic thing. Prevents hip, leg and foot pains.Ah, some don’t need them. Some people hate driving without one. My foot hurts laying sideways after driving for awhile when I don’t have one. Mostly it is to have something that feels solid under your foot vs dead space. If you are tall you may not feel that way.
