Why the dead pedal?
Oh, man...I'd never be without one. When i took this one out of my 2020 to prep it to trade in I sure missed it those 2 weeks! It's built in to the floor pan of WJ and certain other jeeps etc. Place to put your left boot while driving. Soo much more comfort. If you ever worked where people sit at desks you will see angled foot rests at many desks. Better for the hip joints.

Ah, some don’t need them. Some people hate driving without one. My foot hurts laying sideways after driving for awhile when I don’t have one. Mostly it is to have something that feels solid under your foot vs dead space. If you are tall you may not feel that way.
Work around an office and it's an ergonomic thing. Prevents hip, leg and foot pains.
