Most factory dead pedals will take your whole weight if you press against them. For example when cornering or even if you push against it to straighten your leg to get something out of your left pocket. These will bend in those scenarios. All it's good for is basically laying your foot on so it doesn't dangle in mid air.
That's all I care about - leg/foot not dangling out in mid-air driving for hours.
My Chevy didn't have the leg room these have, but the good part was your foot was on the floor and not out in space.

The "dead pedals" I see on eBay, amazon, etc. - if I put my 200 pounds on 'em, they'd be perpendicular to the floor, not parallel to it.

These are perfect for that then.

I'll probably brace mine somehow this long weekend.
I just need to determine which one will attach up there now that the Mopar trailer brake controller is bolted up in that area where some of these attach. Someone here said the brake controller takes the same mounting spot as their dead pedal....... I want to avoid that, but don't want to make new holes, either.

Shouldn't be too difficult to add a simple brace on yours.

I have some 1/2" Baltic birch left over from a project that I'll probably screw to it.
Where do you get your Baltic birch? Not easy to find around here. I wonder if Wood Smith Store out on the west side might have some.........

Anyway, love it, you recycle and repurpose, too.

There's a place about 30 minutes from my house that sells it. Real Baltic birch, not birch ply. $16.25 for a 5'x5' sheet or $28.25 for a 4'x8'. Scraps from this project.

I thought I heard some music coming from somewhere south of here......
Those prices are not bad at all, in fact good, especially considering ordinary plywood prices here rival those numbers.
