My two cents…the noise is worse with the top up. The wind with the top down, I don’t mind. It’s the flapping and buffeting racket with the top up (presumably would be similar with this contraption) that I could do without.
i hate the buffeting if someone rolls down just 1 window.

Cool product. Ordered. $200 is more than reasonable in the big scheme. This part will be on my Jeep for the duration of my ownership versus ~3 tanks of gas for $200 that will be gone in a moment ?

$54 for the JL/JT model that fits the front opening only. Prime day was $19! Is the Sunrider as easy to operate now, no. Am I willing to be slightly inconvenienced for the $145 difference, yes.
I got my full length shade on amazon too. If you don't already have one, I'd recommend a full length as you get a little bit more headroom because it goes up and over the soundbar.

Mine came today. It’s raining here so other than a garage check there is no doubt it will function as designed.

Only items to note are:
  • Extend the sunshade before you crank the 4 bolts down and ensure the shade is centered to reduce waves in the material.
  • The housing for the shade does make closing the sunrider a little extra since it impedes the angle of reach to the sunrider handle. Nothing that relearning the muscle memory of the closing motion can’t cure.

My Bestop Sun Screen Arrived yesterday and I installed it. A few things I have noted. It was esy to install but the choice to use these 7mm acorn nuts with double washers was a frustration. They have barely a single thread left to get them started and the tolerances are so close that a couple of them are already tight enough to interfere with alingnment. After you install it in the roof, you need to be able to slide the unit side to side and so this requires these to be loose enough until everything is centered. If one pops off you have no choice but to remove the whole thing to flip it upside down to install the nuts again. The screen material is really light weight and is attached to the pull bar by vinyl fabric with slots for the clips and rollers that are used to attach it in the front. This means the screen moves from side to side enough to bunch up when you use it, compressing the vinyl and I'm currous how this will hold up over repeated use. One thing I loved about the alien shade was how sturdy it was and I never worried about leaving the top down while going into a store becuse whithout a knife you are not getting through that. By comparison, If the alien shade was a cloth then the bestop screeen would be like a paper towel. However, now I can easily close the top again which was the biggest complaint with the alien shade, As far as noise when open, I solved that for myself, by messing around with varios window positions. With the drivers side window down and the two rear windows open 3-4 inches it is as quiet as with the top down up to 55mph and almost no wind inside. The Alien shade made that even better and I hope this screen doesn't make the problem worse as I'm a bit worried how it will fair in wind. I just hope it doesnt bounce around and make noise iitself I will say one thing about The sunrider soft top itself. I never open it on thw highway. I have had it year now and only use it in the warm months so its not been used al lot. when its closed the twill fabric has stretched enough that now the damn thing makes flapping noises all the time if I open any window in the vehicle at any speed. This Flapping only used to happed on the highway at highspeed when I would appraoch a semi other wise it never made a sound when closed up. Now its all the time and I'm hoping that Bestop has some kind of slolution or adjustment because I cant lower my windows at all with the top down even at 30mph without the flapping noise. So not perfect solutions but being able to operate the top again one handed is great.

I just don't know if I could trust Best Top. I purchased a sun shade some years back and had such high hopes for it but crappy to non existent customer service as well as poor quality left me not trusting

@Bestop I preordered on 8/24. When might I be able to expect shipment? Just curious as others have reported getting theirs a few weeks back. Mine is still marked as “Awaiting Fulfillment” in the order tracker.
