I'll never own a hardtop. There must be some big engineering challenge with the JL to make this for soft tops since they did make these for JKs. What's so different with the JL?

Bestop quality is great and I’m glad the Gladiator is still on their radar but what I really want (and I want it from them) is a bracket that allows the Man Bun to lower down DOWN! behind the cab. I have a JL soft top as well and, side by side, I can’t understand, or get an answer, as to why the JL bracket was designed so brilliantly but the JT bracket was designed to intentionally prevent the soft top from going down and out of the way.

I never really understood the need/want for a sunshade with a sunrider.
If the sun is too bright, close the top.

Maybe I am missing something
It’s the in between mode i live in Texas near Galveston the shade cuts the sun rays in half. Still making it feel open. But it’s just another choice it’s not for everyone.

I prefer to not be cooked at every stop light. A shade is essential in the south.

That said, my $20 Alien shade will do the trick over a $199 retractable shade.

I get the not wanting to get cooked at a traffic light, but i can open or close in seconds.
If I was at a light and the sun was unbearable, I would just close the top until the light changed.

Come to FL and you will see why. Its ridiculously hot sitting at a red light in the summer. And we have had a very hot and sunny summer here this year.

I'm with others in this, very cool.. but not $200 cool, when you can get a semi generic sunshade for $20-50 that can just be put in place, permanently, with the Sunrider.

Also, if that shade operates like most blackout shades do, those springs are going to likely get janked up pretty quick, collecting dust and dirt. Home shades get that way too after a few years, and need to be cleaned.. I assume these will too, just more often.
