Bestop missed an opportunity by not drilling one 5/16" hole. I fitted a Bestop retractable Sunscreen to my Gladiator with a factory soft top. Bestop claims it will only work with their Sunrider for hard top. One 5/16” hole on each bracket, 1/2” back from the factory front hole. Utilize the factory hard top mounting location and bolt. That’s it. You can now have a retractable sun shade with your factory soft top.

Just the hack I've been looking for. Just for clarification.... I'm assuming that you drilled a new hole because the bracket's front hole is too far forward to reach the hardtop hole & the rear hole would shift the shade too far forward?

Yes, I drilled a new hole. But you can drill out the rear hole instead. But I wanted to have it as far back as possible. The front hole pushes it to far back causing interference with the plastic on the roll bar.

Awesome, thank you for the clarification. I may try & work this myself & I wanted to be sure I correctly understood your line of thinking.
