I am running BFG KO 285/75/17 (E rated) on my 2020 Max Tow. Pretty close in sizing...

That's a LOT of extra money for a weird size that only 2 manufacturers make? It's also listed as 51lb vs 58lb for a 285/75R17 so that weight has to be compromising strength somewhere?

I don't see the advantage at all?

I did not know BFG had a tire in that size... a lot of guys are happy with the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T in 35X10 or 255/85R17. Look at the Pizza Cutter Thread.

285/75r17 are basically 34”, lots of those running around.

I have those on my rig.
