Disclaimer: I have already searched the forum and all over the internet and can't seem to find a direct answer from someone with the same issue.

So I have only had my 25 JTRX for a little over 2 months now and I have had an annoying issue and I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this issue as well.

When I am in my truck I generally have my Spotify streaming through bluetooth because I like to use Spotify, but don't plug it in and use Android Auto because I'm not a fan of having cables draped all over my dash or console.

Randomly while I'm streaming, my radio will drop the bluetooth and disconnect from phone completely and then it doesn't reconnect automatically and I have to reconnect it myself. Sometimes I can be in the truck driving for hours with perfect uninterrupted streaming, sometimes it will happen after only streaming for 3 minutes. After doing research before posting this, I have been checking for common occurrences like cell or radio towers near when it happens, or being near a police or fire station or anything that I could pinpoint as a possible cause and I have come across nothing and there is no rhyme or reason when it happens.

I have tried updating my phone and making sure the Uconnect was updated to the most recent version and it is none of those things. Just looking to see if this happens to anyone else because I would rather not sit in a dealership for hours upon hours while they "diagnose" it or worse yet have them tell me that I will have to leave it with them for an extended period of time for them to try and replicate it.

TIA for any input.

The dealer won't do anything unless you can replicate the problem for them.

Plug it in. There should be a USB port inside the center console, with a notch to bring the cable out the side.

The center console is for charging only.

Have you tried a reset? Mine was acting up very similar and I pushed the UCONNECT button to talk to troubleshooting. They advised with the engine running to hold down the volume knob and tuner knob long enough for the system to shut down and reboot. Worked so good once did it. Good luck!

I have not tried that, but I definitely will and hopefully it rectifies my issue. Thank you for the advice.

Not on my two Gladiators. Android Auto works through the USB port inside the center console.
I'll be honest, I can't speak to either of these because I have never plugged my phone into any of the USB ports.

Center console on mine works for android auto
Oddly, when I got a new phone the center console has issues but the media hub or whatever it's called by the radio worked fine with usb. I think the new phone maybe draws more power? No idea.

Regardless, a wireless android auto dongle plugged in the center console is a great option imo. Has been great for me for a few years now. Phone connects right to it via wifi. If you want to try this option get a dongle that shuts itself off when the radio is off so your phone doesn't keep trying to connect to it when you're not in the truck. There are threads on this already if you search wireless android auto

I just got a used 24 Rubicon .. My radio and entertainment center does the same thing. I have the big screen with onboard Navigation. When it happens the Nav stops, car play disconnects and very basic radio is all you have. Comfort controls still work on screen. To make it operate again I must stop, Park and reboot the system. A hard reboot. Reload the software. Reconnect my iphone
and enable car play. All works again as it shood.

Look above, see 1,2,3?
Yea I see that it just doesn't look like a type c in the photo. I suppose maybe mine has a 1 on it then I'll have to check. After i unplug the fully functional AA wireless dongle that's plugged in and definitely working 😎

Do you have any other active wifi devices in your Jeep? My 24 Jeeps would disconnect when I passed a set of comm towers. I finally discovered that it was dropping CarPlay for a second and then pairing with my dash cams wifi. I bought a dash cam with the ability to turn wifi off and the problem stopped. I do have the on board wifi but it doesn't cause a problem. Good luck!

Honestly, at times this is happening there is nothing else in the vehicle on WiFi or Bluetooth and I am the only one in the truck.
