checked and rechecked docking many times.....That's not it....
Tried to operate the BT speaker today, dead and not charging it appears not to mention needs to be reset it time you use. I think they have a problem.

yes. it needs to be reset every time you use it..... No one at the service departments know anything about it, so I do not know how to get it fixed.....

Is yours charging? I can live with resetting. Not charging not so much.

They need to give my money back for this piece of shit speaker. I've reset it every time I want to use it. It only lasts an hour or so. It's not reliable enough to use.

I had mine out again today doing some work in the backyard. I had to reset it to get it to work and then it would keep shutting off every 5 to 10 minutes. I would turn it back on and it would happen again. Did this a few times till I got frustrated. at that point I put it away, what a piece of junk!

I haven’t used it enough to call it a complete POS, but I got it out the other day, had to reset it and it worked so it obviously charged. I didn’t use it long enough to have a clue about any other issues. I do think they need to fix it. May only need some sort of firmware fix.

My original one that came with the vehicle worked fine. I had to take in for a knocking sound and rear locker indicator light coming on and they wound up replacing engine and entire rear end (500 miles in). Anyway, when I got my JT back, the speaker was missing. They ended up ordering me a new one and when it finally came in, it seemed to work, but a month later, nothing. Dealership didn't know what to do either. I figured out the reset button on my own and it was still connected to my phone. BUT It will not charge in the dock. I have checked and replaced the 10a fuse just in case. Looking for answers. On my BT on my phone, it does say that it has 70% battery remaining, but after having it in the dock for over a week, it still says 70%.

My guess, and I haven't had quite enough time to convince me exactly what is going on. My guess is mine charges when it is not in reset mode, then when it goes into reset it doesn't charge. So far I have to reset it pretty much every time.

The problem is no one at the dealership knows what the problem is and unless Jeep knows it will never be fixed.....

So, not sure what has changed, but when I took the speaker out of the truck. I pushed the power button for about 3 seconds and it powered up properly, and worked perfectly. Same thing happened Sunday. I didn’t have to reset it either time. I haven’t plugged it into any computer so I don’t think it took an update. Maybe over time and resetting eventually it gets to a happy state. Maybe there is hope, or maybe it is just building up for a bigger disappointment next time

Ok so I have experienced the same thing. I have used the speaker a few times now without issue. There was a time I was ready to throw it in the trash but now it seems ok. when it works it's actually a decent speaker. I hope it keeps working, with the nicer weather approaching I expect to give it a workout.

Agree completely. It sounds very good when it is happy and it is very loud for its size.

Hoping it keeps acting properly.

I purchase another Alpine Bluetooth speaker for my Launch Edition which worked fine after holding the power button down for several seconds. Now the new one I have, power would not come on at all. Did a reset it powers on, indicator is red. It works when radio is on in the Gladiator and in dock; however, would like to have a power cord to charge; since I have been told to stay home it does not have a chance to charge completely. Called Alpine, they referred me to a parts distributor who did not know of one. Anyone find one that will charge in house? Thanks, I have faith in all of you.

I have wondered about this too. It would be nice to plug it in when it is not in the Jeep. I was looking at the input a couple of weeks ago when I reset it and I thought I saw a marking (didn’t have my reading glasses on) that said something like 16 volt input. I imagine a person could find one that would work at Amazon or other electronics seller. Finding the right plug tip with the correct polarity then is the secondary issue. If you can figure out all of those bits you should be able to find one. If you do let us know.
