In negotiations on an Anvil Mojave X. Hoping I should have it all buttoned up soon but I've been down the road a couple times and gotten close and left with nothing. I'm parking this thread for down the road and remaining positive that we can come to terms and I can eventually start building an ersatz Mojavicon.
Part of buying the X is getting the front and rear steel bumpers and heavier springs, along with the other niceties like FT 4wd... and seats that can be better adjusted than the non-power versions. My back is toast so comfort is a major factor.
This will be a daily driver as well as beach running fishing platform and camping/hunting rig with overland style travel in the future. I have to keep the bed to do truck things, as well as toss in the occasional goose, non-rubber duck, or white tail. In that vein I really want to keep the bed as modular as I can within reason.
Since my 4x4 will be primarily running up and down Assateague, the OBX, and forest/fire roads, the Mojave platform is better suited for my needs.
I've assembled a list of what I'd do to it and attached it below. Open to suggestions and alternatives on what I've written. For example, I like the trapezoidal Oracle LED rock lights but I don't care about color changing. If there's another that's out there that I should consider, im game. I opted for the Garmin switch controller so it can be used with CarPlay and their GPS units. If there's another out there with CarPlay integration I'm unaware of, fire away.
I do have some gear from previous trucks like a Hi Lift and related wheel lift, base, etc, hand tools, ugga dugga, chains, tow straps, etc. I would like to do a RTT but my knees are getting worse and hoisting the mongrel into it at night may be challenging since he's a squirmer.
BTW: If I hit the lottery I'd do it all at once but that ain't likely. Things like wheels/tires/spacer lift will happen once the OEM rubber wears down and so on. I have a homemade road shower that works far better than I expected and that will do for now.
