Hi from Germany!
Got my 21 JT Diesel Sport (European Version) on September 10th. Since the day of the delivery the multimedia device (Radio) was dead.
Managed to get it working again (the longest for a week) after drawing and reinserting fuse 97.

Went to the dealer on September 27th. They checked the wiring and everything. They had to report to the european headquarter via video chat and they decided that the wiring is good (no broken cable) and I will need a new 7" Multimedia Device.

Since than I“m waiting. Talked to the european customer service, they opened a ticket and after a few weeks they escalated my case. But still with no solution!
The dealer has no options to escalate or to speed up their order...
I even have not an estimated date of delivery!!!

I asked my delaer if they could built in a larger (8,4") device, if the small ones are not available - still no answer.

I“m a little bit disappointed and have no clue what else I can do... I drive a lot (about 7000 miles in 3 months) and it is no fun having no radio, no back up camera, no USB ports, no climate control and so on.

Any ideas? Anybody with a similar problem here?

Will keep you updated.

In the USA, no dealer would upgrade someone from a 7" to 8.4" radio. Nor would corporate authorize it as it mean having to add the build code to your vehicle for it and expect warranty service on it going forward.

Also, the 8.4" radios add a cellular antenna input that would need a cellular antenna and cabling needing to be added.

Maybe different on European sales models but there is a lot of supply shortages for spare parts here in the USA. With European radios also being a different part number for radio station frequency differences, I would imagine replacement spares for European support is even less of a priority with even longer lead times.

I think you are just going to have to ride it out with the dealership for whenever you get a replacement.

Thanks for your reply.

That“s agood point with the frequency differences - didn“t thought about it before....

UPDATE:

Yesterday I received a call that the new radio is at the dealership and I was luckily close to this place. The changed it in less than 30 minutes (guess it were just 15 minutes?) and I was fine to go.

Really good job from the dealer (no waiting, no seperate appointment, very spontanous).

Happy to have a working radio after almost 3 months!

Thanks for listening and your help here.
