My first Mopar and the third day of ownership of the brand new Gladiator—and I already had a problem.
I was driving home and suddenly had a “static” problem that occurred with the radio.
Everything was fine one minute, but then crap the next.
It affected everything, including Sirius, AM, and FM.
Only my iPhone connection (e.g., playing a podcast directly from my phone) was OK.
Everything else went from crystal clear to very static-laden and very poor sound quality.
When I got home, I tried seating all the fuses and tightening the antenna.
Nothing worked...
...but, eventually, I found a quick fix on another Jeep forum:
  1. Start the vehicle up.
  2. Turn on the radio.
  3. Push and hold both the Volume and Tuner buttons in simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds.
  4. Then release the buttons and wait a minute for the system to come back up.
This action resets the factory's Uconnect; it takes about a minute, but the system reboots and eventually comes back up.
At the end of the reboot, I had to push the “I accept” button at one point, but when it did fire back up, the radio worked fine without static.

I'm happy I could fix the problem, but also a little concerned that a brand-new $60K vehicle with less than 100 miles on it had this glitch.
Anyway, I hope this post can help someone else in the future with a similar problem

Electronics - check things like consumer reports and other places and you'll find across all brands, the number 1 issue/complaint is infotainment. The demand for technology is outpacing how quickly things can be engineered and put into cars practically.
Ford, GM, whatever - infotainment is a common complaint.

My 2023 Gladiator did the static bug thing this morning when I pressed the air recirculation button in the climate control menu. Full volume static! Your post helped me fix this quickly. Thank you for posting this!

I really would like to thank you, your post really helped me yesterday, I took my 2021 Rubicon JLU to the Jeep dealer for the 20K inspection and the latest recall, after they finish the work, I drove my Jeep outside the dealership parking and then suddenly, the same static noise came out from the speakers, I turned around and went back to the dealership, they checked and couldn’t fix it, but while they were checking I searched the internet for a solution, and saw your post, the Jeep advisor came back saying they couldn’t solve it and want me to come back another day so they can hooked the Jeep to the computer to find out what’s is going on. I took the keys and decided to follow the steps you suggested, when the audio system restarted everything came back good like how it was before, so thank you for your advice, really appreciated

Thank you for that. Second time it happened on my 2022 Gladiator. My neighbor is a Chrysler service tech Instructor and asked him what to do. He know knows the quick fix. Thank you again.

So glad this helped! Since fixing mine via this method, I've now got over a full year driving the vehicle without the radio issue recurring. Weird that yours has done this twice, but at least there's an easy fix. Cheers!
