In this video, we show why beam pattern matters more than getting the brightest possible output. Your car's headlights are built to focus light where you need it most. If the bulb is out of focus, it won’t matter how bright it is—it’ll cause glare and light up the foreground instead of the road ahead. That’s where the SL2 Pro LED comes in. It’s designed to match your original beam pattern for better focus and visibility while delivering more output.

Some LED bulbs over-focus, creating streaks and harsh cutoffs, but the SL2 Pro strikes the perfect balance—focused, bright, and smooth.

Both the SL2 and SL2 Pro LED Replacement Bulbs are backed by an industry-leading limited LIFETIME warranty.

APPLICATION NOTICE: LED bulbs are legal in the USA for Fog Light use only. Not compliant with DOT / FMVSS108 and not street legal in the USA for Headlights. Legal for off-road use in ATV, snowmobile, and off-road racing use. International legality varies by country.
Note: This usage regulation is not unique to Diode Dynamics bulbs. All LED bulbs from all brands, regardless of marketing claims, are prohibited from street use in halogen headlights in the USA. Click here to learn more.

I would love to know why the dot won’t ok LED in lousy dim halogen headlights, that are all but useless, especially folks with old eyes! The $800-$1000 headlights on the market may be the legal answer. But my $60 LED replacements in my Sport S do an amazing job turning the darkest road to the closed thing to daylight! Especially when aimed properly with the illuminating elements facing side to side as instructed in installation instructions. Plus lower the aim to below the stock hight to cover more of the 4 lanes, or sidewalks up to the bottom of an oncoming cars windshield on the right and bumper on the left with the low beams.

If Led bulbs are illegal then there sure is alot of illegal activity going on ....lol I helped a guy install led bulbs in a Ford pickup just awhile back. My entire motorcycle is ALL led headlights, taillights etc.. the fact that a led bulb can't be used in a halogen bulb original set up is ludicrous at best. It's been going on for over 10 yrs. Or more.

Well, alot of vehicles come already equipped with LED'S as my motorcycle did. There are so many now including Jeeps that can come with LED's how is the dot ever going to know if the housing was supposed to be halogen or not.. the amount of research just to give someone a ticket for that is sorta outrageous also. With any misdemeanor violation of traffic law it must be ticketed for then and there not after they research your VIN and then drive to your house and hand out a Christmas ticket. I just don't see it bubby.

While I fully support using LED’s in reflective type headlights that come with feeble lowest cost halogen bulbs, plus do so myself. It’s very easy to tell the difference between the two, especially sitting side by side. Even a caveman working for the dot will.

Yea nice video and excellent explanation for proper installation for proper illumination. But when I go to you DD site to find a pair of H13 LED’s, in my Gladiator, the only choice you give are entire headlight assemblies, that I’m sure work fantastic, but are way to expensive for this retired truck driver, that has installed the best lighting I can on all the vehicles I’ve driven, starting in 1985, when I installed a pair of state of the art at the time Cibie’ ZBeam non sealed beam type, that I used the best halogen bulbs available. Till the last with the disappointing halogen headlights in my Gladiator! In a previous truck I used 2 MORIMOTO TWO STROKE 2.0 H11 low and 2 9005 high that at the time were still only $120/$110 a pair! But today are double that! At least I only need 2 this time, but still are well over $200 for the same brand.
