Well, brand spank'n new Mohave owner here and finally took her off-pavement for a little fun and learning. Worked through 2H/4H/4L, Hill decent, Off-Road pages, and other fun stuff, but when it came time for "Off Road Plus" and "Axel Lock", Nothing I did would activate either feature. So when I got home I searched the web and found Jeep's info videos. Once I saw video of someone activating the switch (stiff, springs back to middle position), I knew something was wrong. My Axle Locker switch is loose and just flops. I could not get it to activate and I'm assuming that's why the Off Road+ wouldn't work either (tried momentary and hold-down).
My JT spent time in the showroom, and I'm guessing someone was twisting knobs and flipping switches and broke it, because searches for this issue has come up empty. What did show up were numerous threads of people adding Rubicon stuff to their jeeps and I learned that the switch assembly is about $90. I know I have a warranty and all, but for $90, I'm seriously considering doing it myself to avoid the trips to the shop and downtime of my new toy. However, All I can find are part numbers and listings for the Rubicon with dual lockers and sway disconnect. The Mohave is rear only with off road+ (See pic).
Am I crazy to try this on my own on a truck with 200 miles on it? If not, does anyone have the part number for the Mohave version of this switch?
