Good Afternoon,

Feeling pretty dumb right now maybe I'm over thinking this. So I have a 2023 JTRD 3.5 Clayton Springs Front and rear Normal Duty. Adjustable front and rear track bar, Adjustable Front Draglink, Adjustable front upper control arms only. Metalcloak Rocksport shocks red. I have had the lift installed for over a month love it works great.
My original bump stop in the rear was the 2 inch Clayton block which I removed. I removed it due to no matter how high I lifted my rear tire with forklift never touched my vehicle. oh yeah and I'm running 37 inch Yoko's MT.
Today I went and got a load of lumber like I do several times a year handled great fully loaded in the wilderness, here is where I got dumb. Fully loaded my rear shock length is at 24 inches Static of course, my Bump stop has 4 3/4 inches before it hits. Rocksport reds are 28 inches fully extended and 16.8 collapsed. So two questions do I Put the Clayton bump stop back in place? Can I run it as I am pictures are attached. and do I need to Upgrade to Clayton HD'S? seeing as I am so far from the bump stop still and over 8 inches before I collapse the Shock am I over thinking this. I am worried about bottoming out on Flex getting in and out of the Wilderness. Again Dumb moment.

If not already out there we could use a nice collapsed shock length vs required bump stop chart. I totally forget the stock length numbers….

Picking up a corner on an unloaded truck is not representative of real world full stuff. Bump stops NEED to be long enough to keep your shocks from bottoming out. If they aren't, you might as well have no bump stop at all as you will never touch it and you'll destroy your shocks if you ever actually bottom out your suspension. Weird thought process during the flex test to think "my bumpstops are nowhere near touching, I should run less"?

Zach Exactly it is not real world stuff. As it sits now my bump stops with the Clayton Block removed and only My rear upper Duro spring will prevent my shocks from bottoming out. Hence why I started to over think it and got dumb. I guess I'm used to my bump stops and my Duro spring to work together one so I don't send my tires into my fenders which no matter what with stock control arms not an issue. and two so that my shocks don't bottom out.

I’m still struggling to understand why you removed them in the first place.

Am I missing something, you have 24" shock length at ride height loaded and 4.75" before the bump stop. How long are the duro springs as they can/will fully compress. You need to measure to the metal cup. If they are 3.25" or longer you could bottom out the shocks. I personally wouldn't cut it that close and would add at least an inch of bumpstop. The best way to test bump travel is to remove the springs and bump foam/duro spring and flex it so you know where the hard stop is but that's a pain. Personally I flex test on a twisted up trail and then take measurements and do the math. I always add an inch for margin of error just to make sure.

There it is Zach I didn't account for the Compression of the Duro spring fully compressed would be 3/4 of inch left before it hits the Metal housing so would give me 3/4 inch before shocks are fully compressed. Too close for comfort. Copy that guys I will add the Claytons 2 inch block back on. Reason I had them off was I swapped my springs out and made it easier to put in with them out of the way, I was torn between HD and regular springs.

Hi Camaroboi I was swapping out springs and removed them. then my shift work started and I was at work for 5 straight days so didn't get them back on before this wood hauling trip.
