My Rubicon has the front trail cam. Now that I have it I kinda like it and want to keep it's usability.

Does anyone here have a front trail cam with an aftermarket bumper and a couple lights? Would you be kind enough to post a couple pics of your bumper and what the trail cam sees?

Thus far, the only bumper I am really liking is ARB. But the pre-runner bar is welded in so any lights have to mount on top of it. I am nervous what impacts that bar and lights will have on visibility of the front trail cam.

The factory trail cam is a fairly rare (and expensive) option, most dealers just preorder certain combo packages, you have to manually select it. And to top it off, its a bear to install if you didn't get it with the factory, easily 1200$ and you have to tear apart the WHOLE interior to do it the OEM way, build the harness yourself, and flash the radio (not to mention replace your tailgate camera and tap into your washer system too). Way too much work that a good spotter can do for you.

Any aftermarket options currently require the 8.4 inch radio, so you're adding another barrier to entry. Add in people who have installed a aftermarket bumper and who also need to be active on this specific forum, there's a very small sample size to work with here.

DANG Guess I'm lucky. I didn't realize it was that significant of work to install after the fact. It came included on the JTR I got off the lot. Now that you mention it though I dont think any other Rubi's had it.. But since I have it, it's pretty darn cool. Not necessary, but fun! Guess I'll have to do some trial, and hopefully not too much error. But I appreciate the heads up - didn't realize it was that rarely of a selected option.

it even has it's own washer spray hahahahah.

Just finishing up now. The thing that wrecked me was I ordered the wrong CVPM. 350$ mistake. Not quite the whole interior. Front seats and console untouched! :) Price is accurate. You can buy the harness from @Jimmy07 for a very reasonable price. I am still glad I did it. The Trailcam is awesome. It takes around 8 hours for the whole job now that previous guys figured everything out for us. If you have an auto transmission it's much easier..... clutch grommet.

About $180 for just the relocation kit. Still $$$ but I’m sure it wouldn’t be terribly difficult to get it working on other bumpers. Heck, maybe there’s already a 3d printed option. I haven’t checked

Yeah I mean AEV does make some good stuff. Its weird that MOPAR's non 3 piece winch bumper doesn't work with their own LED fog lights. That's a mistake..... I like it's low profile look. Maybe AEV deserves a visit they're only an hour away.
