It will come as no surprise to many here...

Purchased a front track bar from Rusty's a couple of months ago to go with my Mopar lift. Purchased their steering box brace at the same time.

As for the steering brace, I will own that. My particular Gladi has an 1/8" plate on the coil bucket, which I understand is not very common. This lead to misalignment and the Rusty's bracket not fitting. Apparently, the thing to do is to cut the plate out and everything lines up just fine. I chose not to cut the plate out. Hence, I'll accept the outcome there.

HOWEVER... when it came to the track bar, I ordered the Rusty's specifically because it had poly ends on both sides (according to the pics and the website description). What came was poly on one side, Heims on the other. I called them up. Immediately, I "must have ordered the wrong part". After several go rounds, they finally got me through to Rusty, who finally came clean and said that they changed the design and hadn't updated the website. The offered to send a poly end and a shipping label to send the Heim back. Fair enough. A few days later, the poly end shows up, but is clearly the wrong part. 1/2" ID (not M14) and a long shoulder. Another call and several emails (again to Rusty himself) and more "I must not be doing something right" and my brand new Jeep must be 1 1/2" crooked from the factory... it finally came down to "you just got unlucky" and the wrong end was sent. I was assured that the new part was on its way. 10 days later... no tracking, no part. Another set of emails to Rusty resulted in "we sent it, must have been unlucky and lost in the mail". Fine, I'm just an apparently incredibly unlucky person. "A new one is on it's way" and "I'll send tracking tomorrow". A week later, no tracking, no part. It's been 6 weeks since I mentioned the incorrect end, and nothing but "bad luck" to show for it. I give up.

Moral of the story... I won't be buying Rusty's in the future. Should have just gotten the Metal Cloak track bar.

Back in the day Rusty was infamous for really bad welds. Some track bars actually broke! I think over the years he has greatly improved the welding, but a lot of people swore off of Rusty's forever basically. I have seen several post about bolt holes not lining up on skid plates lately, so it sounds like quality is still not his strong suit. All I can say is what you said, "buyer beware". If you can't find it anywhere else, well maybe take a chance.

I admit to buying the Rustys LCA frame side skids knowing there was a chance the holes might not line up. Guess what...I had to drill out the skid to make it fit. If there were better options for that particular spot I probably would've gone that route but I haven't seen much out there.

You have all the emails. Let your credit card company do their job and get your money back.

I have their LCA skid. Had to drill mine as well.
