Basically, title. Is it possible to change this from my seat to another seat of the same?

Another #floridaman and I traded seats today (black leather for gray leather), but we both forgot that the rear seat locks are keyed to our own fobs.

Just curious if anyone has any pointers for taking seats and upholstery apart tonfigure this out.

For posterity, here's what I've learned so far:
  • Taking the cover off of the seat is not hard at all. Pull two small push clips holding the fabric and leather into the top of the seat near the pull handle, pull the plastic channel apart at the base of the seat, fish the ends of the zippers out (tucked in), unzip them, detach the velcro in the middle of the horizontal band/belt piece, and voila.
  • Take the seat back off of the base using a T50 Torx. It makes pulling the cover off way easier.
  • The backing board is held in place entirely by push clips, save for one T20 screw on the 60% portion.
  • You can get access to every T20 Torx screw you need to remove by manipulating the foam.
  • The pull handle release assembly is screwed onto the metal frame of the seat. Make sure to unscrew that as well - it makes removing the actual lock bracket (up above it) much easier.
  • Once all the screws are out, the lock bracket lifts UP and out from the factory location. There are several standoffs going down into the frame to seat it in place.
  • Unscrew the pull handle assembly from the lock bracket (2 screws on either side), and you're home free.
As always, if you have to pull or feel like you're going to break something, you probably missed a screw or a fastener of some sort. Everything comes apart quite easily if you're patient and thorough.
