I use Carplay everyday on my commute and while using maps (Waze, Google or Apple Maps) the screen occasionally glitches. It's just a quick flash that if you aren't looking directly at the screen it might not be that noticeable. It's typically the bottom half of the screen including the buttons below the carplay screen. On my 20 minute commute it happens maybe 5-10 times. I've had carplay before with this phone without problems so I don't think it is the phone. I'll try to get a video of it before I take it to the dealership but was wondering if anyone else is seeing this issue.

Nope. I'd also try a different cable.

I've seen it as well on Waze using Android Auto. It's a very brief flash and happens maybe once in my 30 minute commute (at least that I notice)

Not yet but your video is exactly what happens to mine. I’ve taken it to the dealer twice and they “can’t recreate it”. I’ll try to get a tech from the dealer to ride with me next time. It’s super frustrating!

I think ive fixed it

this does not happen while on airplane mode so it has to do with phones data.

1. Delete and deactivate any VPN app
2. Reset your iphones network settings

please let me know if it helps you.

I have yet to actually see it happen directly, but have caught it out of the corner of my eye on my 7.0. Chalked it up to me just seeing things.

Are you using an Apple branded cable?

7” and yes I’m using an Apple cable and I’ve tried another apple cable just to make sure. I’ve also tried all the USB ports and even a different phone and they all have the problem. It is very subtle and if you aren’t looking for it it’s hard to catch. The video above is what mine does multiple times a day.

Hi i recently bought a 2020 jeep wrangler JL about a month and a half ago and have been having this same exact issue 2 weeks into having my new car. Took it to the dealer twice and still getting the run around of them not knowing what is causing this. I was able to catch it on video too and i am taking it to the dealer AGAIN this weekend to try to get some actual answers. I have tried pretty much everything from using official USB apple cables, even with my Iphone 11 pro max USB-C cord, to even plugging in other iphones - through all of this i still have the same issue! I know it is not my phone because i have a Honda with apple Carplay too and there are no issues AT ALL when my phone is plugged in whether it's an official Apple cord or not.

Have you been able to find an answer to this problem yet? Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

Same for me, I've tried everything (cables, different USB port, even another iPhone) and the screen continues to glitch like in the video. Taken it to the dealer 2 times and they "can't replicate" the issue. Been stuck with a glitching carplay system since I drove it off the lot last July. They are definitely not interested in fixing it. Hoping for a software upgrade to the head unit at some point that will address it but I'm not holding my breath. Sorry for the downer info.

My son first noticed this on mine, but only with Android auto while using Google play music.

I’ve got this problem as well. Hoping a software update fixes! Doesn’t bother me as much as the scaled down CarPlay display on the 7” screen. Wish it filled it up more!
