I have the 7in with carplay. Every time I plug my phone in the volume on the radio stops increasing at 28- It still says its going higher, but it flattens out at 28 and doesn't increase. I unplug and the volume increases as normal- This isn't an issue with the top up or hartop on, because i'll never need to be above 28, but its annoying with the top off or open. Has anyone else experienced this? is there a setting on the radio or iPhone that can be adjusted?

I've had the same issue yesterday, with the top off I realized that the sound doesn't go higher too. Ill try to play with the settings today to see whats going on!
Keep me posted if you find something!

I had that problem in my last vehicle, but I realized that it was actually a setting on my phone under the music app. I had to turn off the EQ. Also check the the volume limit setting. Hope that helps.

Thank you, I checked the volume limiter- but not the EQ. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll let you know if it works.

Noticed the same on mine. Also, Plugged into CarPlay using Apple Maps for Nav, it maxes the volume at 25, I can’t hardly hear Siri at all sometimes. Figured it was a setting on the phone or a Uconnect software glitch. Hadn’t taken the time to hunt it down yet. I’ll be watching to see what you figure out.

Here’s the response from FCA Canada! Not much help and doesn’t understand the basics of CarPlay system...
Jeep Gladiator Carplay Volume limiting F3980535-956F-4FC8-A07D-3C1F60613933

so I played a bit with the system and if you turn off the volume adjusting options in the headunit, it seems that the sound doesn’t stop to go higher at 28 like before!

still need to test a bit more!

There was a thread about this a while back. I’m not an expert, but I believe it has to do with the radio power output limits paired to the power limited speakers. If I set my radio up with my normal EQ settings and crank the volume it stops getting louder around 24. As soon as I lower the EQ settings (turn down bass, mid, and treb) the volume will go up. The further I crank the EQ settings down the louder the volume will continue to climb as I turn the dial. Obviously this will give you louder sound, but the quality of what your hearing will not be as good (no bass, flat treb, etc...). You’ll need an aftermarket amp and speakers to get quality sound at high volume.

Again, this is all from research and my personal experience. Someone may be able to chime in with better knowledge.

It appears to be a feature. I saw a few discussions in the FB Gladiator groups- something to do with the voice control and Siri/andriod listening. When a phone is connected through Car Play it's limited.
